Dr Fung tells Valuetainment one great way to judge what to eat to preserve health and lose fat: go with what has proven effective over time. In 1977 the government guidelines begin a massive experiment on us: the dietary guidelines recommended eating in a totally new way: heavy on carbs and low on fat…the opposite of what everyone, worldwide had eaten throughout history! It has led to epidemic obesity, diabetes, heart problems, in the USA and now throughout the developed world. The solution? Easy–simply return to eating natural foods, including healthy animal fats AND eat 3 meals a day, or less. That is it!!
