Dr Bikman, in his latest interview with Dr Shawn Baker on youtube channel, begins with an overview of the main types of fatty acids and which ones we should focus on. If one is on a typical, standard western diet, then all three types are needed: long, medium, and short chains. If your insulin is controlled, then your body will take care of the short & medium ones. Focusing on animal protein and animal fats (and coconut oil) is the best bet for ensuring getting full range of fatty acids and losing or maintaining weight without hunger.
