BEN BIKMAN 2 | LDL pattern B CAN MOVE TO pattern A: low carb & animal fat

http://www.DoctorsToTrust.com
presents episode 769 | Dr Ben Bikman
Dr David Jockers podcast

Data from China shows people
with highest susceptibility to COVID
-those with lowest LDL levels
-those with HIGHEST LDL have least
problems
“LDL very strong for immunity health”

LDL is a terrible predictor of heart
disease…
-studies are NOT CLEAR
LDL patterns:
-larger, buoyant [pattern A] much less
associated with heart problems
-small, dense [pattern B] much MORE
associated with heart problems
“DIETARY FAT is NOT MAIN DRIVER
of LDL pattern”

Drs Jeff Volek & Stephen Phinney…
-able to move people from pattern B
toward pattern A with
-low carb eating &
-dietary fat
Conventional blood panel will not show
LDL pattern
“You can use triglyceride vs HDL levels
to get a clear idea of your LDL pattern”
If triglycerides / HDL is lower than 1.5
If so: pattern A & insulin sensitive!!

Triglycerides / HDL is HIGHER than 1.5
If so: pattern B & insulin resistant
Dr David Jockers:
Example:
Triglycerides 75
HDL 60
Good ratio [1.25] vs
Triglycerides 150
HDL 60
Bad ratio [2.5]
