Dr Naiman, in this podcast with Brian Sanders of Peak Human podcast, discusses how we can use the principle of a protein-sparing modified fast to improve our body composition. If we modify it by exchanging parts of our diet that are heavy in energy consumption with protein, that will work. We don’t have to go to the extremes of protein-only fasting. When we diet by reducing all macros together it can be harmful–reducing both our fat mass and our lean muscle mass.
